A Note from Director Lindsey Strand-Polyak
Any time we hit large numbers, it seems that we're culturally ingrained to take time for reflection: Turning the big 4-0, celebrating a 20 year anniversary, or celebrating a 250th birthday!
This year, Musique du Jour is celebrating our 10th Season, which not only invites us to break out the birthday cake, but take time for reflecting and reminiscing.
This summer, I took a lot of time to look back on my first season as Director, and what stood out to me was the warmth and joy I felt from both seasoned subscribers and other newer patrons.
This season represents not only an important milestone, but the start of a new period of growth: in addition to our three subscription concerts, we will offer our first Open House event at the Skagit Valley Keyboard Collection, hosted by Founding Artistic Director Tamara Friedman. We will also begin presenting our first community outreach performances beyond our Queen Anne home, made possible through the George Bozarth Artists’ Fund.
I hope you'll consider joining us for all three of our 2026-2027 concerts by becoming a season subscriber (and a huge thank you to those who have already subscribed!). In an era where planning even two weeks in advance is an investment, picking three afternoons out of the year dedicated to a little "musical me time" might just be the best kind of self care this season. I know Mozart and Handel always make my day better! Pair it with a pedicure beforehand or a walk to Kerry Park, and join us for a cup of tea afterwards.
See you soon, and let's get Musicking!
Warmly,
Lindsey
